Not about worshipping celebrities. I do think black people see SOME of our celebrities in a different light because of what they had to overcome to make it. Not comparing the two, but Muhammad Ali was a hero to most. When he started losing his skills and eventually dealing with Parksinson’s did black people just discard him? When Michael Jordan retired from the Bulls, as a Chicago kid, I didn’t just say “fukk him” since he no longer played for us.
