nah it wasnt. 04 was when they introduced franchise mode where you could build stadiums, set ticket prices, concessions and all that

it was the 'playmaker' that you both are referring too

My favorite Madden. Another thing I remember from this game was CAP glitch in the Franchise mode. You could make a player then change their ratings afterwards. I would recreate a recently retired star player but keep his ratings at default so I could get him for cheap. After signing him, I'd up the ratings. I was such a cheater.
