It's time to give up on black athletes to save us like 50 years ago. They will not rock the boat, or worse, reinforce the boat, such as the likes of Ray Lewis(went to the Maryland State House to argue for more mandatory minimums) and Von Miller(donated equipment to police). I mean, in all honesty, I really don't. Part of it is I'm moving to a new house in a new city to take a new job while rehabbing an injury. The other part is this forum has moved right in step with American culture in general - LULZ and spectacle are the rule.

Dog, this didn't really even throw me for a loop. I. nikkas gotta learn at some point these athletes ain't your friends, your heroes, or your role models.

II. The bulk of them are just going along to get along. A lot of them are stupid as fukk - uneducated and brought up through a system that degrades them. They adopt the rhetoric of their figurative masters both for self-preservation and to boost their self-esteem at the expense of other nikkas.

III. As someone who grew up in the projects then went to elite schools, hood nikkas (including my family) were never the angriest and most rebellious cats. The angriest black people (toward whites) I met were almost always middle class and upper middle class nikkas. The poor nikkas I grew up around were angry and frustrated with life but had no idea where to direct it. They were too segregated and purposely undereducated for the anger to do much except boil inside of them and get projected onto other nikkas. But the educated nikkas? The ones who go to the schools and live in the neighborhoods among whites and see just how mediocre and dysfunctional and lawless CACs are? And see that no matter how educated or diligent they are, it doesn't make much of a difference whatsoever in advancing to where they should be based on merit? They might know the codes and lingo and flash the smiles and make the pleasant small talk, but inside those motherfukkers have been the most likely to black out in a rage and try to kill a CAC. Their shyt is constantly simmering. But uneducated hood nikkas pretty much never had a chance. My family is full of them. Wonderful humans with big hearts a lot of the time, but the system was designed to cow them and keep them in the dark.

Vick is right though. There's a very little room for error for black quarterbacks and Colin was already on his way out. Yes, Colin was better than other white quarterbacks with starting jobs, but again, historically speaking, Colin was on his way out.

More than that, I find it interesting that Colin decides to take a public stand when he's on his way out of the league. It's like he secured his second gig while on the first. His jersey sales alone shot up to #1 after taking a knee. He went from "being another black quarterback that was unfairly getting the boot" to "2014 Muhammad Ali."
