Yes, but Kraft knew dude was gonna need time to develop into the role.

Especailly if he was "coach in waiting" what the hell were they doing the last few years?

I really want to know what Kraft saw in him to guarantee him the role, even with that you would think they would ensure he developed as a coach before promoting him to HC

This process confirms that Kraft is looking for another "son" to be his team's Head Coach.

That being said I hate how the players are going to get in line while they were acting a fool with Mayo.
That's a big issue with football.

Tomlin has enough gravitas to keep bullshyt in check but a lot of these kneegreauxs will act a fool with a breh HC but be on their Ps and Qs with a white HC.

Some of that is internalized as they are taught to see white men as authority....but some of it (most?) is ownership. Players can tell when the owner/GM REALLY has a coach's back and when they don't. If Kraft gives the bat signal and says "I'm a Mayo Man", the players fall in line like dominoes. If Kraft isn't giving off that vibe up close, they act accordingly.

As someone else said I think it was a contract thing also but watch Mayo end up in North Carolina with Beli. Might as well call this a mutual thing.

He might but I heard him and Beli are not cool like any more, because he wasn't consulted before Mayo was made coach in waiting and he feels Mayo snaked him.

Doesn’t matter. Patriot personnel the only people that get the “How many without______” BS. Brady didn’t win all those championships alone.

I get you but Josh has been to Denver, St Louis (OC), and the Raiders and has done nothing with any QB. Not a positive sign at all. Brady may have masked a lot of things in regards to Josh. Brady looked fine with Bill O'brien as his OC and in Tampa.

Brady’s ability to audible at the line and recognize flaws in coverages fast allowed him to make up for a Josh being overly complex/

This is clearly an ex-Patriot privilege hire. How do you pass up on a young and talented offensive guru to pair with your young QB for a meathead?
