i saw them mentioned in the post and just needed to say that like i know what blondie did was ultimately a positive as far as helping popularize/change the perception of hiphop with whites (the cross-pollination of punk/new wave/hip-hop in nyc is fascinating) but like... that rapture shyt was fukking corny to me. shyt sounded like a 2nd vocal take at best... debbie halfassed the shyt outta that verse. i know the old school style was more 'jolly' or whatever but it sounded like she aint even practice that shyt before going into the studio to me blondie were a capable rock band but if debbie harry were busted back in the day wouldnt nobody care about that shyt lol
