12T - Technical EN NCO - Do construction surveying, AutoCAD, Soils Testing, etc.
Been living in Heidelberg, Germany the last 4 years having a blast.
Deployed to Afghanistan once (1yr)
Next duty station is Hawaii!!!
Bout to drop my OCS and WOCS packets this year, tired of being enlisted...

Being corporate is not all that its cracked up up be.

Believe what you want, but I work in a joint environment with all services and its clear as day who has it the easiest.

EDIT: what I should've said is that af is the least "military-like". The most relaxed.

I don't understand how people shyt on the AF so much and then turn around and be like I shoulda joined the AF:what:. I've worked jointly with Army, been TDY on a few Army bases and had classes with Army. They stay saying we soft and then be like y'all get treated better than us. Then turn around and get mad we get treated better than them:what:

I WAS A 19DV40 (RANGER)
but now im a 29E40 Electronic Warfare
Deployments include 3 Iraq 2 Afghan and 1 Africa.

Awards include 1 x purple heart and 1 bronze star.

My best assignment was Germany and I learned more shyt at fort benning.

Assignments include Fort Hood 2 times Fort Benning 2 times Germany 1 time Fort Riley 1 time.

Been in 11 years. Completed my Emergency Management degree and running towards retirement.

Last cycle mm1 and mm2 was like 80% for Conventional mechanics. Higher than the Nuke rates cuz they kicked too Many people out.

That's just how it is in maintenance especially if it's aviation. I can use another example. When I was inAfghanistan the last time the only day off I received was when i went on R&R leave. We had a patrol or something every single day. Working 9-10 straight days isn't an issue...when you get back to garrison you will have a 4 day every month get off early a lot and have chances to take leave. Don't sweat the small stuff.

OR rates come first time off is a distant requirement.

I just had this conversation the other day when I came to the conclusion that out of all the jobs a MSgt can hold. I have never met a flight chief that was worth a damn. I know some good Pro-Supers..Shop Chiefs..Not one Flight Chief. And I'm a easy going pretty relaxed guy at work so I don't ask for much. But flight chiefs in maintenance are all begging to be chopped in the throat with the shyt they pull.

I think it has to do with them being into position to become a SMSgt and they realize that they have to ditch the good guy shyt and get political.

I had the job as the XO since we loss ours early so pretty much I worked all 7 days. Didn't get a day off until r&r in August so I was going hard for 6-7 months. Can't even begin to describe the level of exhaustion. They called the EMTs when we landed in the A cause they had been trying to wake me up for 45 min and thought I died

Lol damn breh...I mean shyt sucks but have y'all every thought about cats like me down at the strong points or cops. We got attacked at night and day we need those aircraft night and day nothing worse than trying to get an asset and finding out bagram is down for maintenance and the next closest asset is just now coming off the ship.

Y'all work long and nasty hours because cats like me need the asset y'all are fixing something serious.

EVERYDAY I THINK OF THE MARINES DOWN THE RANGE WE ARE HELPING OUT CANT SAY MUCH BUT OUR MISSION AS ISR MEANS ALOT TO ME AND HEARING THE STATS THAT WE SAVED A FELLOW MILITARY MEMBERS LIFE IS A GREAT FEELING FAM
