- Back in 2012, the New American reported that Harry Reid’s son, Rory Reid, was the chief representative for a Chinese energy firm planning to build a $5-billion solar plant on public land in Laughlin, Nevada.

And journalist Marcus Stern with Reuters also reported that Sen. Reid was heavily involved in the deal as well.

- “[Reid] and his oldest son, Rory, are both involved in an effort by a Chinese energy giant, ENN Energy Group, to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel manufacturing plant in the southern Nevada desert,” he wrote. “Reid has been one of the project’s most prominent advocates, helping recruit the company during a 2011 trip to China and applying his political muscle on behalf of the project in Nevada.”

“His son, a lawyer with a prominent Las Vegas firm that is representing ENN, helped it locate a 9,000-acre (3,600-hectare) desert site that it is buying well below appraised value from Clark County, where Rory Reid formerly chaired the county commission.”

Although these reports are in plain view, the mainstream media has so far ignored this link.

- The BLM’s official reason for encircling the Bundy family with sniper teams and helicopters was to protect the endangered desert tortoise, which the agency has previously been killing in mass due to “budget constraints.”

“A tortoise isn’t the reason why BLM is harassing a 67 year-old rancher; they want his land,” journalist Dana Loesch wrote. “The tortoise wasn’t of concern when [U.S. Senator] Harry Reid worked with BLM to literally change the boundaries of the tortoise’s habitat to accommodate the development of his top donor, Harvey Whittemore.”

1. The land is own by Nevada State, not the BLM or the FED gov't.
2. He has been refused to pay the State who owns the land.
3. So he is wrong for not paying on Public Land? Laws that apply to the BLM’s management of public lands grazing include the Taylor Grazing Act of 1934, the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, the Endangered Species Act of 1973, the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976, and the Public Rangelands Improvement Act of 1978. All of them have been broken by the BLM.

4. He has farmed there since 1972.....so 21 years of payment made. Again this is nothing to do with the fees because he would've been in jail since 1993.
5. So the Chinese and Reid Family can make money off a land cause they don't own it but it's not right for Bundy to pay his fees cause he doesn't own the land.

Exlpain also why it would be a problem for china and harry ried to buy the land also? It's not bundy's land so why does he care? Does he get pissed at every land sale in the US or something?

Because if they are they need to grow up, chinese are buying entire dairy farms in france, international companies are buying up giant chunks of other countries are those people aware this is going to happen everywhere? Underrated post.

I'd just like to summarize a few things that people have pointed out in other posts:

1) The (state & federal) government lays claim to 81% of all the land in Nevada. That's ridiculous.

2) The feds raided his ranch, tasered one of his sons, and pushed his cancer-survivor daughter to the ground

3) Nevada Senator Harry Reid and his son had been negotiating with Chinese investors to use that part of the desert for a solar-energy project and he area’s last rancher may have been standing in the way.

4) Bundy has been paying his fees to the county this whole time.


The crazy-ass militias coming to Bundy's support are whatever, but they really ought to let him remain on that land.

he hasn't been paying fees, he has tried to pay the county for the rights but he is supposed to pay the federal government... its very very simple. He doesn't want to pay the feds because he is a strange man who his anti government. This is basically like if i didn't like mexicans and i tried to get the feds to make sure none of my tax money went to mexicans, it does not work like that. If you got a ticket and tried to pay barack obama, it doesn't work like that, you pay who you are supposed to pay.

Also the issue of the solar plant is shocking, by all estimates with people with brains the US needs to at least get like 40% of it's energy from renewable before things can get messed up in the environment. They need that kind of stuff, before i heard about the solar plant i was definitely under the impression it was a fracking operation or something, it's a bunch of solar panels, something that is needed.... this is bizarre.
