Truth. Kanye cornball energy was way too strong for most that got into hip hop 10+ years before his debut to call him the GOAT. Personally his voice and whole vibe always annoyed me. But at least he was an elite producer at one point.

Drake even more laughable, although honestly Drake music much more listenable from 2013 forward.

My personal top5/10 and my "objective" top5/10 are a bit different, but as far as my "objective" top5?

Nas, Hov, Pac, Cube I consider the top4, after that it's Rakim, Outkast, Scarface. Then if you wanna throw Biggie in there I understand, but I usually think about longevity so it's difficult for me to put Biggie on top lists, eventhough I consider both of his albums classics.

I was kinda fukking around, Kanye pre Yeezus is a great artist, but I can't put him on any top lists if we're talking about rappers/MCs.

Also Kanye's first 4, or 4 out of the first 5? 808s was what it was but arguably the worst out of those 5.

MBDTF is a really good album but the way people and blog reviewers overhyped it was crazy

Same I never thought Kanye was a great rapper per say, but as far as the artistry of hip hop he's up there.

I think we're getting to the point where we have to discuss who's a better artist vs rappers

This is fair. Where I'm coming from is, I got a hard time believing someone who lived through the primes of Pac, BIG, Nas, Jay, Scarface, Cube, Outkast just to name some obvious ones could seriously say Kanye a better rapper than any of em. Especially since he got others writing most his rhymes.

And if we putting producers with writers in the conversation then why Dre getting left out?
