Generation divide on display

First time I heard the term it was them heavy into underground, hardcore and alternative hip hop types that thought anything more commercial than Tribe was trash. They listened to shyt like the Boot Camp Clik, Native Tongues and Hieroglyphics crews.

Then it was applied to fans of nerd rap like Aesop Rock, El-P, 7L & Esoteric.

Finally it was the preppy, college kid lane defined by Kanye and Kid Cudi.

A lot of those in the first two groups gonna hate on Kanye for being so pop and commercial leaning.
