Stupid article linked to us by a stupid poster.

Bernie Sanders does not advocate government ownership of the entire economy. He only advocates government ownership of the most critical industries. We're already socialist when it comes to national defense. He advocates we do the same for healthcare.

Outside of that he advocates for more social programs to help the poor and middle class. Things like tution free college education. And a greater social safety net.

Now you can question why he calls this socialism. But that is what people think when they hear socialism and why they say they like it. I doubt millennials will cease to support single payer healthcare, tution free public college, and a greater social safety net once they get jobs.

Young people will continue to support THIS version of socialism as they grow older.
.

They won't you dumb fukk. They'll turn into the very same old timers worried about their portfolios, retirement funds and returns being garnished to sh!t by young entitled brats.

Universal healthcare OK. But tuition free ? Get real. Taxpayers shouldn't have to subsidize gender studies graduates and all these people picking sh!try degrees.

i mean let me approach it like this:

the govt covers tuition at public colleges, not even boarding.

does that not incentivize private colleges to bring their cost down? the problem is that the costs are outta control because theres ZERO incentive to bring down price on either side.

bernies also not paying a cent for people who go private, which is what, like half? no one can tell me this isnt manageable, im sorry. close a few military bases and its done :scusthov:

The plan is to tax wall street speculation. Not every "taxpayer" is equal, so stop using that term to describe this plan. Unless you prefer your tax money going to bailouts for people who gamble on wall street.

The Deep State
Scandinavia doesn't have a less regulated economy it has a labor dominated economy that doesn't need state regulation. This is the dumbest fukking myth that libertarians and liberals propagate. Yes if the U.S. would nationalize major industries and hand off environmental regulation to the AFL-CIO nobody would care about abolishing the EPA. If the U.S. had a 90% unionized workforce and allowed sympathy strikes(love that liberal society all about freedom and self determination!!!) we could do without a state mandated minimum wage.

Love to see the numbers on people that support a free market, which has never existed anywhere ever because it's the shyttiest idea ever, when it's explained past buzzwords.
This is patently untrue.

Scandinavian countries have struggled with loosening regulations in an effort to stimulate growth that is just NOT happening

I am a millenial.

I work.

Entering the workforce only made me more acutely aware of exploitation and more class conscious, in a way that a more abstract understanding you get from studying at university cannot.

Not only that, but I know the actual definition of socialism (not the one erroneously posited in the article). And I support the bare-minimum reforms such as universal health care and the like, but also revolution and the liberation of the working class.

So :trash: article on all levels.

Your right, your single opinion discredits the entire article :mjlol:

Nowhere
"the actual definition of socialism — government ownership of the means of production, or government running businesses" but this is not the actual definition of socialism :what:

many of the stats she cites as proof of millenials not liking socialism are misleading for obvious reasons and i'm not going to go into it now, but you can read the report and the questions they asked respondents at this link: http://reason.com/assets/db/14048862817887.pdf.

the facts remain that ideological preferences are largely consistent over time, even among millenials.

No. Because we are indoctrinated like sheep to value a piece of paper loaded with debt over transferable skills that add value to a company.

They'll ride this wave till the wheels fall off.
