ME and my girl were just cracking up about this kinda stuff. I'm setting up a home gym so i was getting some stuff off offerup, had us driving way outside the city, most confusing navigation ever.

Then it hit us, yoooo brehs used to freestyle this shyt and gamble their livelihood on Mapquest lol

Imagine putting in the wrong address, not being able to make out the road signs, how the fukk did we not all get lost 60% of the time
Cross country with my dad using printed out Mapquest directions :francis:. Got deep into New Mexico or some shot and he missed an exit. Didn't realize for another 30, 45 minutes.
I'll do you one better. I guarantee only like 10 people know what this is without using Google Reverse-Image Search......

Even though the answer is on the adaptor:russ:. I had a Salt n Pepa Push It 45 not too long ago.

I’ll tell you how we didn’t get lost - we was out in the streets enough to know them.

Even if you got lost someplace outta bounds, you could figure chit out based on knowing:

- is there more White people outside than Black? I must be on the West Side
- which streets changed names past a certain point
- landmarks

I remember a couple times, getting directions over the phone, writing it down on a sheet of paper, driving around for an hour, never actually finding the place and then going straight home

I'm bad with directions. GPS saved my life
When I first started on the job I'm with now I did all kinds of traveling to looking podunk towns in the middle of Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois primarily with just netflix directions. Half these towns had no street signs and if it was late at night no street lights. I remember having to back track and find an exit I was supposed to take and had missed. That shyt was torture.

Having to rewind the tape back and forth and flipping it over for side b

I remember having the joint with two tape decks. So I'd record my favorite radio shows and then use the second tape deck to add on the songs from the radio show I liked to make my own little mix tapes before I knew what a mixtape was. I was anal about them to so would lose my mind when the tape stopped recording halfway through a track. shyt would drive me crazy.

We watched Wrestlemania 6 like this. shyt is embarrassing in hindsight. My best friend growing up ordered it but there were too many people going over there to watch so we had to do it the ghetto way. Every six or seven seconds the picture would become clear and you would see one move before it got squiggly again. But fukk that, it was Hulk Hogan vs the Ultimate Warrior, we had to see it.
I experienced every wrestling and boxing PPV that way. Just listening and watching the scrambled TV.

My contribution is kids will never understand the struggle of watching Rap City or Yo MTV Raps for days hoping they'd play your favorite video or listening to the radio hoping to hear your favorite song. Especially if the album hadn't dropped yet so that was the only way of listening unless you scooped the single. That's another struggle they'll never understand is having 100s of singles sitting around and having to get up and switch out tapes/CDs. And to add on to that they'll never appreciate the beauty of skipping to the next song or just sliding your finger back to repeat the part of the song. That struggle of rewinding and fast forwarding tapes to get to your spot again was a bytch.

I remember one time I did Mapquest to a job interview.

I never made it.

How about when you had to use actual maps and/or stop and ask people for directions if you got lost.

The trust we had in people those days:wow: it seemed like people were more helpful back then.

Having to go to a store to use their phone with no BS or to get change to use the payphone outside...haven't seen a payphone in a long time now that I think a out it:jbhmm:
