Little off topic, but how come St. Louis never got an expansion franchise after the Hawks moved to Atlanta? Figure given the team had some measure of success while there, the NBA would have gone back.

new arenas are usless unless the old arena is horrible and in the middle of nowhere, and now your making a swanky new arena downtown with like condos, convention center, new subway stuff and a vote agreed from tax payers.

its better to just renovate

Case in point, Sacramento with :flabbynsick: Sleep Train Arena. I saw a Laker game @ Staples last month and stayed @ The Luxe Downtown by LA Live when I was there. Big difference. I don't think The Bradley Center is as much outdated as people think. Arco was already outdated when they built it in 1988. Plus the possibilities of where they're building Sac's new downtown arena are endless. Dunno if I can say the same for Milwaukee on a new Arena.

It's headed that way: http://www.sfgate.com/warriors/article/Warriors-bid-to-move-to-S-F-gets-lift-from-Brown-4851509.php

They need to move too. Oracle isn't a bad arena, but it is in a horrible location.

The SF Plan got halted for now but the Warriors' lease with Alameda County on The Oracle still expires in 2017 :lupe:

Senator Herb Kohl has officially sold the Bucks for $550m. New owners are Wesley Edens & Marc Lasry. Full ownership.

Edit Edens just said "we're excited for the arena that's expected to be built here." Lasry "to hopefully build an arena here."

So I guess we'll be getting a new arena in the near future.

Edit #2: They've committed to put atleast $100m towards the new Arena, and Senator Kohl has pledged a $100m gift for the development of a new Arena.

He makes John Mccain look young. And there's talk of building a new arena, better be with full owner dollars, no one wants to see another stadium tax and the City broke as is.

New owners pledging atleast $100m, and Senator Kohl just pledged a $100m gift towards the new Arena. That's atleast $200m right there.

The new arena's supposed to cost about 500 million, where's the rest of it coming from?? I never was a fan of public funded arenas, and lord only know what kind of tax we'll come up with to pay the rest.

Yeah, I feel you on that. Hopefully by adding the word "atleast", the new owners are leaving themselves open to put some more $$$ in, but I'm sure it's gonna be partially funded by the taxpayers.
