After the Seattle to OKC fiasco, I doubt any NBA team gets moved unless their is no chance of a new arena getting built and the only other option is relocation or the owner is willing to sell the team to any suitor whether it means that suitor wants to own the team.

and hence the problem. sell it to someone who's gonna move it and give a team life. an entire fanbase was created in OKC a place that doesnt scream basketball central.
he should wash his hands of them to whoever or keep them. not all this "i wanna sell but don't want the city to hate me cause I moved them whine whine whine"

He's a former Senator of that state. The Kohl Center where the Badgers play, named after him. There's a much bigger meaning for him giving up on the team than some other owner. It's equivalent to the state giving up on pro basketball. It's similar (albeit to a lesser extent) with Glen Taylor since he saved the team from being moved to New Orleans. When he put a piece of the team up for sale, he wanted to put in writing that the team can't move and that scared everyone off except Flip Saunders.

In Kohl's case, he's 79 years and doesn't wanna deal with a long ass rebuild and he's probably just ready to move on, but he doesn't wanna shyt on his state either, so now we have this.

same thing what ralph wilson did

kohl can now wash his hands of "losing money", not getting a new stadium and having to move the team its not on his watch anymore ala starbucks dude who sold the sonics to clay bennett

bucks will be moved imo, no way a publicly funded arena is going to be built in milwaukee

The rumor is that it's the Brewers owner buying the team

Given that they're owners, they can do that shyt. It's on your terms. From selling a home to selling p*ssy, everything has terms and conditions.

Hmmm, I just saw this. If he buys the team/is part of the group that buys the team, they're not going anywhere. He's been real good for the Brewers, pushing our payroll higher than it's ever been. He wants to win, and everyone around here loves him. It would be pretty interesting.

How hungry is he with that vision?

Bucks can still save themselves in the next couple years but the shyt is chess.

Brewers are a pretty small market team, and in 2012, he had the payroll over $100m, with it nearing that total in the last 2 years. He offered both Sabathia and Prince $100m contracts, and while they were likely token offers, atleast they were offered.

Of course Baseball is not Basketball, with the obvious being the Salary Cap in the NBA. He's pretty much let Melvin do what he does, which SHOULD bode well for the (if this happens, probable) new GM. Hopefully he/they pick the right guy. Like I said, it would be pretty interesting.

@BillSimmons: Off last tweet: the NBA has been helping Herb Kohl quietly shop the Bucks around w/o letting it turn into a stay-or-leave soap opera.

@BillSimmons: Off last tweet: NBA would rather see Bucks stay in Milwaukee but a new arena has to be part of it. Franchise alone will go for 525-550 mill.

I guess we'll see when someone else starts scoopin'
Them warrior owners got a fukking steal.
