i used to run into these cats at bjj too. you can tell within 15 seconds of rolling with someone that they're either a cop or a wifebeater, their whole style is predicated on abusing someone that isn't fighting back.

Facts! Brown belt here. As soon as you lock up with a cop you can tell. They are the least relaxed and most tense grapplers. They muscle everything and spaz out. They take forever to learn any technique or flow. Even cops that stick around and do get good seem to have a different feel to how they roll during open sparring then most people. They still retain a lot of that stiffness.
