This. Kevin when healthy is borderline elite, but he may not be a good for Sota as constituted. I would trade him to Boston for Jeff Green KG and their 1st rounder.

Kevin Love for Jeff fukking Green, who is a great roleplayer (and thats his ceiling) for KG who has maybe 1 more good year in him, and a late 1st rounder in one of the worst drafts in recent memory?

It took a minute for this to settle in on me but how the hell could the Twolves turn down this package it would allowed them to start D Williams have Thompson as the energy big gave Rubio either a solid backcourt mate or 6th man and with the number 1 they could of went multiple ways. And then they would of had the 9th pick. :ohhh:

That was a really good haul for K Love who may or may not leave them.

They're. Not. Rebuilding.

A deal like this guarantees 3 things (besides obviously more years of losing)

1. Adelman leaves

2. When it's time, Rubio will follow him out the door

3. You don't have a team anymore.

Twolves get Kevin Martin and they're a playoffs team. Adelman also wanted Aaron brooks before the rockets acquired him from kings

He's done pretty well at getting to the line in Adelmans system. You shouldn't feel that way. He always balls in Adelmans teams and he would in Minnesota. I think it worth taking a chance for team whose weakness is the position Martin plays. Martin balled in Houston until Mchale came into the franchise

It's not the system. Martin doesn't the same kind of foul calls that he used to get.

Besides, this system is being tailored more towards Rubio. Like Flip said, they gotta get players that make Ricky better. The reason why Budinger was a wanted man is because prior to last year Bud shot 44% from corner 3's, which if you watch Rubio play, that's his main kick out spot and you're usually wide open.

Flip's interested in Marshon Brooks because he can create for himself. They want a second creator out there.

As far as I know, Flip's next step is to wine and dine Mayo, regardless of whether he drafts a SG or not.

but its Ricky job to make other players better. Marshon isn't proven. And on comes up short in the clutch and isn't go. To be worth the price tag. Y'all should've went after reddikk last season when he was on trade market.

I don't know how this thread got this far.

Kev Love getting injured must have made y'all forget how good he is and how average those players are. There can only be 5 players on the court at once, we get no better subtracting one great player for 3 average players. If Waiters showed the kind of potential some of y'all say he has why would Cleveland be willing to part with him? This team needs shooters and none of the people coming in would fit that bill. If you trade Love you're building around Rubio and nobody into that trade makes Rubio better.

Maybe the Wolves can't get a package with 2 young guys on rookie contracts plus a top pick again but if you do trade Love, you can at least target players who will fit your team and system better than those guys.

You're missing the point. The player still has to execute. I can execute the play to perfection, but if you miss the shot, nothing happens. That's what Flip means. Too many times he'd get the ball to where it needed to be only for the shooter to miss. That's why there's a major emphasis on adding more shooters.

As for Brooks, I don't think Brooks is plan A to start, but I hope they can actually develop a player for once and let him get opportunities.

They know Love is leaving right? :dahell:

We are 2 years away from that answer

In the meantime, answer this question

Considering the majority of the posts in this thread are awful (not surprised), I'll just get to my morbid example. Walk with me.

You have a relative. The relative tells you he only has a year to live. Nothing he can do about it. You've accepted that as his fate. What do you do?

A: spend as much as time as you can with that relative, do the things he wanted to do that he didn't get a chance to do, just be there til he croaks, or...

B: shoot him in the head first chance you get after he breaks the news.

Just answer A or B. There is a point to this example.

A hungry young player, an essentially expiring contract (retirement) of a very good player and a pick that can be packaged and traded worst case, or Kevin leaves in a couple of years and they get nothing. Put it like this move him or ride or die with the dude, which is not a bad decision either just gotta play the cards differently.

timberwolves don't need this deal. if they have to trade kevin love, they can get a better deal down the road.

they don't need the 1st pick. theyre likely to have a choice between Caldwell-pope & cj McCollum tonight.

and if McCollum goes to Minnesota, I can see him winning rookie of the year there.
