They drew this up as a "fukk you" to WWE, for putting SD against Rampage, it isn't about the money or ratings.

I bet money that Dragon asked for this, and that a match with Suzuki was specifically discussed in previous contract negotiations with WWE.

There's no doubt in my mind Dragon was jealous of U.S wrestlers getting these singles matches with MiSu so he basically pulled the trigger ASAP. I can only imagine what they about to do in 12-15 minutes without commercial breaks

No, no, no. If AEW really had as much clout on TNT as the marks claim they do, Tony Khan would call up the network and say listen, we're demanding to go on an hour earlier this Friday on TNT.. and TNT would give it to them with no questions asked.

I don't think MiSu vs Dragon would move the needle THAT much. the amount of people that understand how awesome/big of a matchup that is, isn't very big. IF they give Danielson and Suzuki 15 minutes or so without commercial breaks, that's better than a couple more thousand people tuning in for Rampage (with TV commercials).

Worst case scenario they didn't capitalize on an insignificant number of TV viewers (by putting the bigger match on TV instead of youtube). Best case scenario the match is good enough to continue to garner buzz and maybe gain the same number of viewers they would get for Rampage.
