He was wrong, BUT she definitely escalated that situation and she ended up paying dearly.

She needs some training in people skills and de-escalation tactics. All that tough talk doesn’t work when you’re dealing with someone that doesn’t care about your authority and is also not afraid of you.

The young man was trying to restrain himself initially; however, she kept pressing. Soon as she saw the young man wasn’t being compliant she should have disengaged further dialogue, left him alone for the time being, and called for backup.

Also a female CO should never be alone on the floor with male convicts and very limited back up. Your have to run a very tight ship and be intentional, tactical, respectful, and clear in your objectives when dealing with serious offenders.
