I'd say crime of opportunity, (Transient/homeless is real possibility).....Look for someone in the neighborhood, likely alcohol abuser, maybe living with parents, maybe recent upset in their lives, losing a job, a relationship, etc. Look for someone who maybe knew the victim, a slightly older male, she may have had conversations or slight interactions with. The circumstances are wrong for planned out crime, this is someone who saw her jogging, maybe even tried to approach, and things spiraled from there. He raped her, and killed her to cover the crime.

No way is her IG to blame for this, sadly, despite her death, is just another vapid, self indulgent, elitist, glamour girl IG. I even had to smile at the St Tropez post, because of the Puff reference, she seems cool enough to go out at least a few times with.

The NYPD’s chief spokesman, Stephen Davis, said it appeared Vetrano had been sexually assaulted.

“The [medical examiner] needs to confirm that, but there were marks on the body that were consistent with sexual assault,” Davis said at the presser.

Even before the remains were identified as Vetrano’s, neighbors feared the worst. One young girl on the block collapsed in tears as police investigators descended on the neighborhood.

“She had a routine jog,” one neighbor said.

Another neighbor, who would identify himself only as John, said Vetrano went jogging with her father nearly every night before he suffered an injury.

“He asked her, ‘Don’t go in there,’ ” John said, referring to the weedy area.

“They found her phone over here [on the path] . . . If these weeds weren’t this high, we would have seen her,” John said, adding that “all girls know not to walk along these weeds.”

Agreed. The attack happened during the day and dude sounds like he knew her routes and habits very well. Investigation should focus on him and the locals as well. That neighbor in particular could be throwing the bone out there to deter investigation while the attacker cleans shyt up.

I wouldn't put it past anybody that knew her there and any locals. Maybe a fellow jogger or somebody she knows enough to get her to slow down, strike a convo, drop her guard, then sneak up on her very quickly. I'm not from NYC, but that place doesn't have the best reputation. A lot of racial shyt from what I've been reading.

Don't know what she was thinking running in that kinda area alone. Not to blame the victim but you can't not take into account the potential for psychos to be lurking. I run alone a lot and even when I do trails I stay alert because of animals but also the occasional non-runner who I might come across. you have to really know the trails you're on because you can either get lost or some foul shyt can pop off and no one else will be around to even help.

Ladies shouldn't even consider running alone in trails because no damn police car in the world will get to you fast enough on a trail, especially if you can't even pinpoint where you are without the help of GPS.

Yeah man, women have to be EXTRA careful out here. Hell even dudes. I'm a grown ass man, and you won't catch me in no parks/grassy areas at night. Their are too many crazy people out here.
