Folks from the Eastern half of the South and the upper south always forget about the Black Beach spring break festivities of the Gulf Coast states in the Western half of the South. Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas have some of the livest beach events. Back in the days, Texas had the Kappa Beach Party down there in either South Padre, Galveston or some other Texas beach town. Folks from Louisiana and other gulf coast states have their own spring break festivities too. These parties are the Western South's answer to Black Beach Week in Myrtle Beach, Miami, Daytona, etc. Or maybe it's vice versa depending on which events are older..
