i be seeing these mixtape/internet rappers who be on 2-4 tours a year and do festivals at SXSW, A3 festival, BK Hip Hop Festival, etc. and some of them be stacking for some reason and don't really need national recognition. they be touring more than mainstream nikkas who might do 1-2 tours maximum a year and do a couple shows.

you got a point, but wouldn't it make sense for a mainstream dude to do more shows to cake up.

Breh some of those guys are doing the shows for free for exposure or getting paid very little.
They kind of have no choice but to do 100+ shows a year especially if they are up and coming. Gotta get known somehow.
Meh. It varies. Dudes like ASAP ferg, FBZ, etc tour a lot. Joey Fatts said he did over 90 shows In a year and made a million. It's believable. Tbh, smaller rappers work 10x harder than bigger artists it seems in terms of music. Look at Drake for example, gets all his shyt written probably. And is more concerned with being a basketball player groupie and shyt like that.
