Liking manga, reading books other than "urban fiction", liking sci fi, being into ricer cars, skateboarding, graffiti, being into wicca (I know nikkas...), comic books, wrestling...basically any hobby possible that wasn't "sexy" back then or took most of your attention. Even with music: If you could rap FOR REAL back then you got no holla...you had to be on something relatable and easily digested...most people ain't that bright and don't care to dig for anything. They like what they see...That's why I fukked hoodrats and bounced...or they would bounce because they'd see a nikka wasn't what they expected.

Well. I know u may feel like that's a black woman thing but to be honest that's a woman thing period. A lot of women don't have any hobbies. They like shyt like shopping, make up and fashion. I don't consider fashion a hobby unless your making clothes/ drawing up designs. I have nothing against that


As for me I like drawing,painting,photography ,graffiti, comic books (the art), and I can grab a controller and play video games. Now when I tell a black man that they will automatically assume that I can't like fashion or I must be nerdy or ugly (if they haven't seen me) etc. I promise u it goes both ways.

im from the southside of chicago, englewood to be exact, it dont get no more hood then that
mfs arent trying to end up like their moms cousins and ect ending up a babydad/mom. they on some other shyt.
you comparing a big ass city like chicago to baltimore is the issue. chicago has its ruff areas but you can get away if you want you can go downtown or up north if you want to remove yourself from that hood mentality for a few hours in more small cities you dont have that option.
and being that we are a bigger city progressiveness/individuality is more acceptable in some instances. chance, chief keef, lil durk,kanye, and common are all from the southside .all the hood dudes fukk with chance and all the nerds fukk with keef, everything isnt so cut dry here. all of them have way different outlook of Chicago

I don't know what hood you come from. I can only speak on growing up in Baltimore,Nothing changed about the high schools here. Here if you aren't into the usual things. You are seen as weak, not weird but weak/soft. Be into something like skateboarding or different type of music, you are a clown off jump.You only get a pass for being different if you are connected through family members, even then nobody will fukk with you.

Matter of fact, I just had a little incident last week. Took my son to six flags, he's 10 but looks like he's 14 and dresses in the latest ( thanks to his mother ) fashion. Step away for a second to use the bathroom and little nikkas were trying to mug my son. Of course he didn't know what was going on, because I worked my ass off to make sure he wasn't raised in Bmore or that type of environment

i won't lie...I see a lot of white dudes that are just fine being average living that middle of the road life and having no problem finding mates...shyt makes you wonder.

I've thought about that alot. Why do "we" have to dress up ( not that I mind somtimes ), but the white boys will walk around in some damn flip flops, college t-shirt and shorts and have zero problems with females. Yet we probably spend the most on clothes. I dont know how many times I've told my sons mother. Stop buying him expensive clothes, he doesn't care abut them, his friends don't care. Who are you really trying impress...shyt burns me up.

my point is when you are in HS you are still getting to know yourself.
you dont know what you want out of life.your likes,or dislikes so you go based off appearance and how a person makes you feel.

I'm from the US(Virginia). It's not that they don't like it. It's more of the assuming that I must be weird to like those things.

swag is something alot of black dudes naturally posess so idk why yall get so turned off by the word.
