How many Black women in America are interested in an intelligent man outright? It's very rare. Black culture, in general, values the cool pose.
PLENTY! trust me!
i think it is starting to shift as more and more black women are becoming college educated.
my friends and I literally talk about this all the time.

To be honest, I take offense to this generalization... it is a blanket statement that does not encompass the entirety of the Black female community...

where does the notion that coolness is the enemy of intelligence come from?
women's love for Tupac wasnt because he was some thug ass dude shooting people up. They valued his intellect and ability to connect to several kind of people, from the hood to Harvard.
i dont know not one women that seriously wants to build with or be in a relationship with thugs.

and they see no issue with furthering the false narrative.:snoop:

my definition has always been self confidence/assurance.
i simply pointed out you need those qualities to build/lead a family and amass wealth/financial security.

Self-confidence/assurance and swag are two different things. Indian, Korean, etc. dudes are some of the most swagless men on the planet. But, they build families and stack money. They own businesses the Black men with swag throw money at in every Black neighborhood. They're busy extracting wealth out of our communities, while we're focused on looking the part! When Black women say they want a man with swag, they aren't talking about self-confidence and assurance. They're talking about an elevated sense of self-worth (earned or unearned), explicit materialism, etc.

Most Black American women lack self-confidence, so they look for something or someone they can latch onto to give the appearance of it. If the man with "swag" chooses her, she must be worth something, too. It's no different than the shy kid hoping the popular kid hangs out with him in the cafeteria. By proximity, the shy kid becomes popular. What he lacked, he's gained by association, even if that's not truly the case. The fact that "swag" is at the top of most Black women's list of criteria is quite telling.

Swag is the dumbest shyt going in the Black community. It's the peacock syndrome. nikkas prance and strut because they have no real power. A peacock is harmless, but it looks fly.

Problem is from sixth grade until their mid-20s, most Black women have been cosigning non-productive nikkas. Then, when they want to settle down, they want the unicorn nikka. That unicorn nikka is long gone or is playing the field at that point. Those non-productive dudes either end in prison, dead or underemployed due to their lack of skills. Then, we get the noise about the lack of good Black men.

Most Black men and women have very narrow interests. If your interests are beyond the narrow scope of acceptable Black interests, you run the risk of being alienated.

That's the fukked up part about Black culture. It doesn't embrace visionaries and people who think outside the box. We're a community of followers. It's why our kids don't take interest in obscure shyt and turn it into billion dollar industries for Black people. They think they have to be into hip hop, hooping and other stereotypical shyt.

You know its bad when you can't even argue :wow:

once again you are creating you own narrative and definition for the word.
how did swag go from being the menacing thug to the harmless peacock?:mindblown:
you change the definition with each rebuttal.

His intellect? Women didn't care for Pac way back when. He even said this himself.

It wasn't until he became associated with thuggery that his female audience grew. If he were just a regular dude, spitting that Black Panther talk and writing poetry, his female fanbase would have been much smaller.

Pac embracing that thug shyt in an attempt to be cool by the Black community's standards is what cost him his life.
