Right now, from the 2013 NBA All Star Game, here are the players imo that could play in MJ's era from 1984 to 1998 effectively and to the level they are playing in today's game:
Lebron, Kobe, Durant, Parker, Melo, Duncan, KG, Aldridge, Z-Bo, Paul, and that really might be it imo. Everyone else, like a Noah, Lopez, I would probably be bench warmers trying to go up against the Hakeem's, Shaq, even an older Kareem. I'm not sure of the scoring point guards like Westbrook, Kyrie, Holiday, etc. would do against Isiah, Magic, Stockton, Payton, etc. They would get that work imo. And the other wings in this year's All Star Game just wouldn't hang with Jordan, Bird, Pippen, Drexler. This year's Wade is nowhere as good as the old D-Wade, but the old D-Wade could definitely hang and be as good as the other wing players. James Harden I wouldn't be too sure about, but he could be like maybe an Alex English type of scorer maybe? I'm not completely sold on his defense, plus he is what 6'4-6'5ish? Jordan does have a point imo.
bruh James harden has a long was to go before he's anything like Alex English.

Of course they could hit jump shots back then. Most of those cats were wide fukking open. Whenever you watch games from the 80s the guards don't even start playing defense until the ballhandler gets to the free throw line.

And LOL @ homey saying KG types grew on trees back in the day. Even today, KG is as one-of-a-kind of a player as you'll find in NBA history, right alongside cats like Magic, Dirk, Bron, Shaq, etc..

Why is everyone surprised by this list? It actually makes total sense. MJ only respects champions. Kobe, Bron, Duncan, and Dirk are the only dudes left in the league right now that have led their teams to titles. Wade was finals MVP in 06 but that was Shaq's team. Pierce/Garnett/Allen shared that 08 title and the Pistons won as a team in 04.

Win a title and MJ might give you respect.

:beli:
Shaq don't say that shyt, and he's as feminine as they come

he isnt? how many 7 footers can you name that were perimeter players like dirk and shooting damn near 40% from 3? his 3pt fg % for his career is right up there with ray allen, steve nash, reggie miller etc

Im so fukin tired of hearing about michael jordan

So we're gonna act like the softness of the defensive rules in the NBA is a product of the players not Stern. You really gonna tell me if these nikkas now had the freedom defensively as those nikkas that they wouldn't fukk shyt up. Yall some delusional ass 1 track minded nikkas. The workout regime of players now, the sheer strength and muscle(not just being big but actually strong). Im tired of yesteryear players in there sports hating on modern players. The game is different now, the game is a lot faster and A LOT more athletic. Most those dudes wouldnt be able to keep up. The difference between sheer athleticism in athletes in athletes now vs 20 years ago is the biggest gap ever. There workouts, training and access to athletic knowledge due to the evolution of sport is ridiculous. And dont give me that,'well if those athletes had access to it too' bullshyt cause we arent living in those ifs. Just facts. For Jordan to say those players then on average as now is B.S. They had more star power, but the average athlete now>> then; and I dont care who disagrees with me [/rant]

Dealer schremf is also shooting damn near 40% from 3. Is he some type of special player. All I'm saying to be mentioned in the same breath as greatness like magic and Lebron you need more than a jumpshot.

Larry Nance is NOWHERE NEAR KG's level. Stop letting this nostalgia shyt fukk up your perspective.

And Dirk IS a one-of-a-kind player. I mean one-of-a-kind in the sense that their style of play changed the game or there were no other players like them before they came (at least to their level).

There are more players in this CURRENT era that could play and excel to their current level or better in Jordan's prime era (late 80s-mid 90s) than there are players in Jordan's era that could play and excel in the 2010s. Really, it's gonna be mostly the better big men.

detlef schrempf is 6'9, averaged only 13.9ppg and at best was the 3rd option in all the teams he played for

i clearly said, list the 7 FOOTERS who are shooting damn near 40% from 3s for their careers. people can say things like "shaq is as dominant as (insert center here) or "lebron has passing ability like magic" but nobody can say "dirk is like _______" because there hasnt been a player like dirk before.
he's the best player from europe to play in the league, he's already top 20 all time in scoring and has a chance to be top 15 and even top 10 by the time he retires. 1x league mvp, 1x nba finals mvp, 3 pt shootout champion.

how many 7 footers have won the 3 pt shootout :mjpls:

dirk may not be top 5 or even top 10 all time but in terms of uniqueness and being a once in a lifetime type of player he's certainly in that conversation.
again, he is 7 feet tall shooting almost 40% from 3pts for his career
