Mcdavid is going to have a better a career then crosby. I just hope oilers dont end up first overall pick getting auston matthews to damn what scary team that will be in 2 years

Would probably flip the AZ boy Matthews to the Yotes for Ekman Larsson

he Winnipeg Jets and Dustin Byfuglien have signed a major five-year contract extension worth $38 million.

The 30-year-old defender's contract is worth an average annual value of $7.6 million, according to the Jets.

The six-foot-five player was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season.

Byfuglien has played in every Jets game this season, registering 32 points, and is tied for second in scoring by a defenceman this season with 15 goals, behind only Brent Burns.

"My family and I have loved Winnipeg and we're very happy to stay here and sign this," Byfuglien told reporters Monday.

"I'm excited to be a Jet."

Byfuglien arrived in the Jets organization when it was still based in Atlanta following a trade from the Chicago Blackhawks, where he won a Stanley Cup, in 2010.

"We've got a good group of guys here who I've been with for a while. [...] I believe in what they're trying to do around here," said Byfuglien when asked about his decision to stay in Winnipeg. "You can't win a Stanley Cup overnight. It's a process."

Byfuglien played in his fourth NHL All-Star Game in Nashville, Tenn., at the end of January.

The Jets play the St. Louis Blues in St. Louis Tuesday.

Oilers are :trash: hopefully McDavid gets lucky and bolts the 1st chance he gets. You would think after all those number #1 picks they would close to contending level by now. This is one instance rigging him to the Leafs or Coyotes would've been justified

They finally have good management with Nicholson chiralleli and mclellan

They need atop flight goalie, and a top dman

Their top 6 I'd fine
