I was only 10 when he first came back and didn't really get a feel for all the hype. But I'm watching these YouTube videos now of the random games and news surrounding it. Anybody old enough to actually remember and being able to speak on it. Were people surprised by the rust or was it be expected? I can only imagine if the coli was around then for the reactionary threads:russ:

YouTube btw got an almost endless supply of old NBA videos. It seems the level of uploaded has grown crazily over the years , I remember having to search for games like crazy but now I can find full games with ease and in good quality:ohlawd:

Let the coli tell it 10 is old enough to analyze and recollect games :stopitslime:

Rust was expected but mike got his rhythm back pretty quick and was dominant he wasn't as athletic and there wasn't as much dunking on nikkas he rarely did that. When the playoffs started outside that game 1 vs orlando he was killing but the bulls had a hole at the 4 that got exposed

My goddamn self. Shout out to my real Africans
His decline was more obvious and folks expected to see 93 Suns/Bulls Jordan. But it was still a solid and exciting season. Like it was said earlier, the hole at the 4 just made their interior defense super soft, thus the Rodman acquisition the following year. shyt was exciting though. Jordan himself was a rare phenomenon.

What I noticed off top was he could barely dunk. He had no lift which made me appreciate that next season even more because the lift along with the quickness was all the way back. That offseason workout in between must have been hell. It was the worst kept secret that he was coming back. Even Scottie was wearing the AJ 10s pointing at them telling MJ to come back...

The rust was expected I think... I personally wondered if he would ever return to his old form

Yeah watching this Orlando series once he went back to 23 looked like Mike:russ:

I looked at the 94 series with the Bulls/Knicks it's crazy to me how close that Bulls team was to pushing for that 4 peat without Mike. They went 7 with the Knicks and you never know what happens if they don't get that call against them in Game 5:yeshrug:

20 years since his first comeback btw:wow:

Good to know, I'm trying to find some old sports center or some type coverage that maybe they were calling him a shell of his former self or something. Crazy how much the 24/7 news cycle has changed sports

A lot of people in the streets was saying mike was done and questioning if he'd ever be the same it was a long summer, nikkas was heated after that magic series and low key goin in on mike :to:

Then he shut all that shyt up in 96.I remember a couple articles saying he would never be the same again

No shyt that's crazy:russ:

They weren't the favorites in that Magic series just cuz he was back and the Magic were young. Was it known in the NBA that they had next ? I know had a 60 win season and home court.

I can't remember who was favored but I think the consensus expected the bulls to win that series.Mike jagged game 1 with those 2 dumb ass to's with less than 45 seconds left :why: jordan single handedly blew game 1 of that series I coulda swore he had like 8-9 to's that game then nick anderson said he wasn't the same mike in the #45 so he switched to #23 in game 2 and dropped 38-40 and was killing anderson the rest of the series but horace grant bust the bulls ass and that's why they lost.It was actually good that happened cuz it made mike hungry and motivated him

Yeah that Horace Grant part tells me they were gonna lose that series regardless. Never knew that Horace Grant wanted out of Chicago like he did that was crazy to me, I know he didn't fukk with Mike but he didn't even wanna re sign after 94

I don't even remember the media hype. Just what my people were saying and what we said at school. I remember a few telecasts when they would say baseball conditioning and basketball conditioning were two completely different things so it would take time for his legs to return. A few folks wrote articles about if he would turn back into the Jordan. Would he be invincible? He def got clowned for his baseball career and ability. But I honestly remember folks just being excited. Especially when he dropped that Double Nickel on the weak ass Knicks. Also his game winner against Atlanta when he went full court was exciting as hell too.

I was legit crushed when Orlando beat them that year. Dude filmed the GOAT and the WOAT Spacejam the following summer, trained like hell and came back and dominated for 3 more years. That shyt will always be amazing.

That Atlanta game winner was the shyt, they got that game on YouTube:wow:

If a first take like show was around back then I can only imagine the shyt that would of been said after that Magic series:scust:
