atleast with football theres things going on presnap, substitutions, audibles. plus the breaks are between plays so you can show replays. in baseball, for the most part all they can show is the previous pitch unless there was an actual play

So pitchers don't wave off the catchers pitch suggestions or they don't show the managers in tense situations? Most of the time in football, they just show the coaches or players in the huddle between plays, it ain't that much going on.

To get on topic, the MLBPA won't happen, because this makes the bullpen irrelevant.

im not dissing baseball, i enjoy baseball too. i just think that the down time between plays in football has more interesting shyt going on than the downtime in baseball. different formations, guys put into motion, looking for mismatches, checking out how the defense is setting up>>>tightening batting gloves, arranging jock straps & spitting

Institute a pitch clock and not only will you speed up the game, but you'll make it more exciting as there will be more offence.

Exactly.....

I loved baseball as a kid, played little league and played DH in high school but quit after one season because I couldn't stand baseball practice at all (and I wanted to focus on music).

I guarantee you if the stars could bat more often more people would tune in. I actually got into baseball more last season and I found myself tuning into every Miggy at bat.........If he could bat more? Sheeeeeittttttttt

If a foul ball counts as a strike the first two times, it should count as a strike the 3rd time. Game would move right along.

nah i remember an alex cora 11 pitch at bat where he was fouling off all kinds of balls, only to hit a game winner or something. the pressure after the first couple fouls was thick. you dont want to take that out of the game.

This might sound crazy but the only thing I wish baseball would do is have 6 batters instead of 9.......fukk strategy, nikkas don't want to see the pitcher hit, pinch hitters and all that shyt. I really care to see the top of the order hit and that's it. When it comes to the end of the game I want the bat in the best batter's hands....fukk all that other shyt.

Could you imagine seeing Miggy get the opportunity to bat more? It sounds crazy but baseball is like fukking watching Kobe where they put in a rule that he has to pass the ball.

Take out the rule that says you can't sub cats in and out. Let Miggy just play offense. No one is paying to see him play defense.

I guarantee you if you told nikkas they wouldn't have to wait 8 other at bats in order to hit again then more nikkas would play baseball.

It's not close to dying. It's just taken them far too long to join the 21st century and start making changes to the game.

It's a regional sport now but these teams aren't losing money like they do in NBA and NHL. The TV deals shows people are watching. On a national level, people don't care but that's not indicative of the sports health and popularity.

They were the last league to allow youtube videos, last league to add replay to their games and now they will tackle the length of the game. They can speed the game up by making players stay in the batters box and not re-adjust everything they are wearing in between each pitch. 3 to 3 1/2 hours is not much longer than you spend at a football game. If it doesn't interest you or you find it boring, that's understandable. But people who love the game enjoy baseball for what it is. Every play can be the game deciding play. I'm sorry you can't start watching a game in the 5th inning and be guaranteed great drama.

its got a monopoly on summer. If hockey switched to summer baseball would be dunzo.

I don't know but it doesnt feel like pitchers take too much time between pitches just a small percentage who make it noticeable.
