Have no problem with him opting out it’s how he did it that’s Busch league garbage

There’s a reason a player as talented as him has been on so many teams

That terrible team they put on the field every day.

Talk radio tomorrow will more about Cespedes and less about them getting smacked around by the Braves which is what they wanted.
Mets had a winning record with this roster minus Cespedes last year and a roster that has a 2 time consecutive Cy Young Award winner and the Rookie of the Year who holds the single season HR record for rookies and Mets in general the roster is fine.
Maybe they did throw him under the bus to deflect from the current losing streak but hey if the guy or his agent pick up a phone they wouldn't have the opportunity. :yeshrug:

Dude just said eff it
Oh yeah and my contract rolls over :umad:
Explain the rollover. I haven’t read too much about the contract situations this season.

However, I did see that Cespedes’ 2020 salary was restructured down to $6M because of last year’s off the field injury. But if he were to begin the season healthy, it would go up to $11M.

I know salaries are prorated this year, but could this be a factor? Just start the season healthy for that higher fixed salary and bounce soon after?

Are players still getting paid even if they opt out for COVID reasons?

Shut the fukk up, cespedes carriee a weak roster to ws, and playoffs back to back years and if it wasnt for injuries when he played the mets had like .600 record

I know I knocked the Mets earlier but that was before the opt out was announced. I wanna hear from Ces or his agent. It seems strange that he would quit like this during a contract year. If the Mets account is accurate and he no called no showed, he might as well announce his retirement because no team is going to take a chance on a guy who hasn't played in 3 years, coming off major injures, and who quit like this

Ok, I never said he sucks but still they had a winning record without him last year that's just facts.
