Why are so many black folks caught up in these scams?

I just saw this and it made me really seeing (former) celebrities such as Da Brat and Montell Jordan pushing this Wake Up Now nonsense...

Trying to tell people to stay away from this stuff seems like a task and a half because they actully believe the lies that they'll make money doing it...but I notice that these MLMs are basically trying to sell black people a bag of magic beans.

It's sad and insulting and only proves to me how entrepenuership in the black community needs to be a priority...

Its not just black folks that fall for schemes like this. I went to another scam like this and it was full of white folk, mostly middle class. I went to mostly black event and it was crazy how people are like, Im gonna get rich.
