Peddling a trumped up Vince offer as a ploy to get more money from their current company is a carny tactic older than me. I remember when Joe & Danielson "turning down WWE" in 2005 when I'm sure it was the OVW offer Punk accepted at the same time. These Japanese guys today aren't Misawa/Kobashi turning Vince down in the late 90s
