I figured it was the sam dew joint because they play it from time to time on 92.3 but its not in heavy rotation

And levels has become a mixtape/street anthem..... its not on radio one at all here

Self Made 3 drops in 2 weeks and the only promotion I see is the organic promotion from Ross and MMG affiliates online...

Online, via their twitters/instagrms

Lmao nikka you live in Bmore of course you not gonna hear no Wale. He addressed that situation on mixtape about nothing

Sir, with all due respect Wale is from Montgomery County Maryland. Baltimore Maryland, radio one plays the same records that other mainstream hip hop radio one stations play across the nation.

Women aren't checking for MMG anymore, basically. They used to have the club and ladies tracks to attract enough chicks to go gold (or near gold) but now they're on a steady decline. If Wale couldn't go gold with a record as big as Bad, he's pretty much done. His next album will sell less, as will the next. MMG's prime is over.

Meek never really popped off like I thought he would. I expected him to have a record like Bugatti but it never came.

Ross...he keeps chasing after that next BMF and can't find it. And his ladies tracks aren't working unless Drake is on the hook. That should tell him something...

SM3 will bomb, Mastermind won't go gold in a year, and sooner or later the crew will break up.

I don't think Ross is falling off.. He's still everywhere and getting endorsements from all kinds of brands. His stock is growing and believe it or not he has the momentum for another album.

HOWEVER, the Mismanagement of some of the artists and their projects is fair. I salute Ross & Gucci Pucci for actually helping these brothers get their projects out. For example, Wale was left for dead after the first album didn't hit it sales goals. As a result, Wale was headed right back to DC as "the failed local"

Ambition was a mainstream success and helped solidify the redemption of Wale's career which was suffering from an identity crisis. Fast forward to "The Gifted".. Solid album, some critics argue its better than his first his two but the sales aren't as high.

Dreams & Nightmares almost gold

Self Made 1 & 2 had hit singles but neither project sold well

French Montana...

And here we are today, Self Made 3 is getting ready to drop with no promotion.

Outside of Ross, Wale, probably Meek, and maybe Omarion, no artist has a shot on that MMG roster now that they're in a new building. Ross may not have as much pull anymore as far as getting albums green-lit. It'll be interesting to see whether or not Atlantic try to fukk with their sound. And last, if Def Jam lost the amount of money where they basically decided to sell MMG off to Atlantic, I wonder how much all these other record labels are losing on artist? We are definitely in the age of the 360 deal. A lot of these artist may as well stay independent, especially if they already got that "colt" following behind them.

MMG was never at Def Jam they were at Warner. Ross is signed to Def Jam as a solo artist. Everyone under the MMG imprint is signed to Atlantic Records.

Rick Ross as a solo act will be fine. He's on one of the biggest records of the year and is still literally everywhere. The crew seems to be on the decline.

There is literally no legitimate reason why Wale can't keep up with J.Cole's album sales with a single as big as bad. You can argue that both artists had very strong first singles. Unlike Wale, J.Cole was coming off the lackluster debut with no crew. Wale was coming off a strong sophomore album on one of the biggest labels in the game.

At the very least his sales should stronger

Amen did its job imo, not sure about chart position and whatnot but it got played everywhere

Young And Gettin It as the 2nd single tho :patrice: kinda fukked up the albums momentum

Said this months ago.. They mismanaged the album release date in unison with the singles.

Amen was perfect but it came out months before the album dropped. Young N Getting it should've featured Future not Kirko Bangz on auto tune.

:smh:

I was genuinely surprised at how they dropped the ball on Meek. Meek was a sure shot for a quick gold plaque

That's another MMG problem. They treat mixtapes like spring boards for singles. Amen popped off and became a single for the album, but it was released way before the album came out. So the buzz slowly died down. That shyt keeps happening with MMG...

BMF was on the AA mixtape and Diddy had to beg Ross to release it on the album. They're making bad business decisions...

lol I'm trying to follow you brother but I can't. Ross has been on top of his game post BMF. God Forgives, I don't went Gold last year. He's on one of the biggest hip hop albums/songs to drop this year.

Teflon Don is 200K away from a certified plat via RIAA. They did a good job of incorporating BMF on Teflon Don from AA. They capitalized off its success perfectly. However, the same can't be said for the Meek blunder.

For one, Wale's not selling any less than he did when he put out Ambition. The thought that he's not selling as much is ridiculous. Ambition didn't go gold in 2 months, so why are we expecting the Gifted to do that? Bad, for as big as it was, wasn't a bigger song necessarily than Power Trip, and on top of that, it was on a mixtape he put out that you coulda downloaded 6 months ahead of time.

And you're wrong about their circumstances. J. Cole's "lackluster" debut still outsold Ambition and had a bigger hit than anything Ambition had.

And the only non-Atlantic MMG artist right now is Gunplay, though Def Jam eats off MMG anyway since MMG is an off-shoot of Slip-N-Slide, and they had a Def Jam deal.

Meek's biggest problem was that Dreams & Nightmares didn't have a big single other than a track off DreamChasers 2, and he appeals to the demo that will buy your shyt the least. Meek's one of those guys where his sales don't match his hype, because the hood LOVES Meek Mill. I've seen it firsthand. Put on that Dreams & Nightmares Intro on anywhere and everyone will sing it. They just won't buy it.
