Didn't like this track at all. Was even more disgusted to find out it was Alchemist at that time :scust:. It took me a while to understand why it was a banger.

Win Or Lose though? :lupe:
I put a lot of people on Alchemist off the strength of Win or Lose.

Was a banger!
Like u said not in their normal style, but with the drums one of the last NY songs to hit in the clubs
No hate on NYC but at that point it was only a few certain style NYC records hitting in the clubs
50 had the recipe but this was a nice entry

Daps and pos rep. I actually don't think it w3as that out of character. Maybe the hook was, but for the beat I remember in Scratch magazine Alchemist said he was trying to channel what Havoc did with Quiet Storm, so he also wanted to do an 80's sample that had sort of an upbeat feel and keep the feel but kind of make it sinister sounding. Quiet Storm is way better lyrically, obviously, but it's still a banger IMO.

Got It Twisted definitely got some mainstream/club burn. I remember some white chicks I knew that weren't into hip-hop at all, and they would rap along with it.

Yeah, Win Or Lose was crazy. At least as of 2007 or so I think Alchemist said it was definitely his favorite beat he did for Mobb Deep and in his top 3 that he had done period. I remember them asking him on HipHopDX. I think he said The Realest was more special, but that beat for beat Win Or Lose was the best he thought. I dunno, is it me or did Al and prodigy go after that Win or Lose sound again for this? Even the way the vocal sample opens up the same way as Win or Lose at the end around 3:30.
