The people around me who are successful all have one thing in common. They all own businesses. My sister has a real estate company, my mom has businesses. The wealthy people who surround her same thing.

I'm about to take that leap. I fly planes for a living but I'm about to invest in a business and then fan out from that in many directions.

I'm based in Africa but have relations in the states as well and im there alot since I have family there. There may be stuff people need from Kenya. Like for instance there's a cheap labor market here. Things like IT work can be done from here at low costs. There's also items made here you may want and need someone to supply you. Then you resell.

Realistically alot can be gained. I think the ideas would be flushed out if they were on TRL

Not just business but general life tips when it comes to general employment.

That Trade thread we got going is some real good stuff and got me seriously thinking about entering it.

I think I saw that thread. That could be in the business section

Can we get the College & Career subforum back? All those threads get buried in Higher Learning, just like all the movie and TV threads used to get buried in The Arcadium.

Sounds good. I didn't know that existed. I think in general we need a forum for people to figure out their finances, education choices, work choices businesses etc

Kind of sad to hear that the positive forums didn't last, I mean if we networked and communicated that would be the start of bettering the next generation. I'm in college but I don't plan on working for someone else my entire life my friend started posting on craigslist fixing pc's etc, he's on his way to funding his own legit business with just a little hustle and know-how. Talking shyt is fun sometimes but eventually reality strikes and when it does I don't want it to be on the white mans clock.

Doesn't take long. If you in the states to work for an airline you need a four year degree. But outside the country really you can be done and ready to work in a year and a half. This is If you do you private pilot license, commercial license and then multi engine plus instrument rating.

It costs a lot to do it. That's the main problem. But some people do partnerships with some airlines where it's called an ab initio course. You do entry tests and interviews. If they take you they train you and you work for them. While they deduct some of the training cost from your salary
