Or realize that sex (chromosomes) and gender are two different things, which is really the crux of the issue. Gender is not science or biology, it's societal. Blue is for boys! pink is for girls! This name, this hairstyle, this type of behavior, this job, this role is to be assigned to people with these body parts. This is what 'trans' people, at least the reasonable ones have been trying to get across but most of the people chiming in invalidate their perspective from the door and just want something to complain about and point to as the reason for the downfall of some shyt that has been in motion.

That's fine and dandy, but has absolutely nothing to do with what I stated. Males are NOT females and vice versa. Now as to how they BEHAVE, that's a totally different argument. If dude wants to BEHAVE like a female, knock him/her-self out. He just ISN'T a female. Would I refer to him as 'her', sure. Would I have some sort of celebration about it? Fukk no. Societal norms exist for a reason: Without them, there IS no society. The problem is defining what 'normal' is. We already know what 'male' and 'female' mean. This type of thing just obfuscates the discussion, IMO.​

It has plenty to do with what you said, because you still referenced chromosomes, biological sex, and are using clinical terms like male and female. A "gender reveal" party is not about body parts, chromosomes, male or female sex, it's about identity.

And this person, who I assume was born with a vagina, doesn't identify with what society has deemed to be feminine, hence the "boy" haircut and the blue letters as their mother helps them celebrate taking a stance on saying this is who I am comfortable being in this world, which is a big deal because despite you being relatively chill about it, not everybody is going to be eager to "live and let live", people will label, judge, bully and even blame them for the downfall of society as you can see, just because they don't want to behave and dress in the way that social norms dictate.

And it get's lost in translation because people don't listen, even people who are relatively reasonable jump straight into talking over the people who are setting the table for the conversation, It's never been about male/female sex, even when there's a sex change. People who get surgery and take hormones to slide their biological scale this or that way, are still doing it to validate their identity. If there wasn't so much fuss about it, and people could just live and be who they want, there would be very little incentive to have to actually go that far in order to validate ones existence.

It's a part of it, it's a means to further validate the identity for self and others.

Why do females with small breasts get breast implants? To be feel, present themselves and be seen as more womanly?. I remember growing up seeing how much pressure it was on girls who were flat chested and boy-ish looking, a lot of those women grew up and decided to change their bodies to avoid the insults or bolster their a self image that doesn't reflect who they feel they are and want to be.

On the flip side of that coin, someone born with a vagina and large breasts can't just go and get a fade and some men's clothes, they gonna have to tape those titties down or even remove them in order to feel accepted as someone who is polarized toward the male energy.
