A former poster who was in the Navy said there were cases where dudes would throw people off aircraft carriers into the middle of the ocean. They’d cover it up by saying it was a suicide.

That's any occupation that even remotely requires any type of violence tho. It's like being deployed. For 9-12 months prior, you training me to kill the enemy, then for the next 12 months, I'm killing the enemy. Then you bring me back to American society and saying, "okay, return to who you were 24 months ago". It's not even possible for anyone regardless of MOS. I was admin but I worked at the CSH and on another FOB where we were isolated af. So hell yea I freaked out when I was standing in a line at Sam's Club and having a bunch of strangers running around all around me. No reintegration training on this planet can get you back to "normal". I kept myself grounded unlike a bunch of folks I use to be stationed with. They're till trying to adjust

Oh yea I ageee Marines/ Armys operations are completely different deployed vs in Garrison. Hell some of yall dont even have real jobs in Garrison and just work motor pool or various details so theres a definite "switch" that gets flipped with yall when yall deploy.

Couple that with the "every soldier is an infantryman" mindset where you guys are constantly in danger and yea I get it how the damage happens.

Whereas in the AF you're doing the same job deployed as you did back home just on a 12 hour/6days a week schedule. Because of that The AF doesnt put a huge emphasis on changing operations for deployment (at least in the non rated operarions world) ..NO NTC or anything like that just "requalify on the m4, go through Self aid buddy care and CBRN again and you should be ready to go "

Damn. Years ago I literally was trying to join the military. I was over the weight requirement to join. I worked out and cleaned up my diet and was 5 lbs away from the goal weight to join. But got cocky about the great shape I got into and start eating crappy again and gained it back. Hearing all these stories it is a good thing I didn't join.

No black soldiers were involved in any of that shyt by the way.

I need articles or something. I'd buy and read an anthology book of each and every one of these stories lol

I use to say this all the time when some freckled pale face would complain about welfare and other shyt. They really should be combining assets, installations, services, etc. Look at Space Force. It’ll be another justification for Some 4-star to beg for more money to add on to the defense budget when the Army and Air Force already have units that do the job they want this new shyt to do. It’s a waste. If I was in charge, I’d set each branches budget at a certain amount until an independent entity did a full audit

Alot of soldiers are bad with money. Take an 18 year old kid, be they man or woman. First time away from home, first time with real legit money in their pockets. Now take all the fukked up money lending offices, the Car dealerships with fukked up interest rates, the women who study Soldier’s rank and pay so they know JUST how much to play you for a piece of p*ssy, the alcohol, drugs, strip clubs, stunting to look fly when out of uniform....

It can be overwhelming financially for any person under those circumstances, let alone a soldier
