I was fortunate to Join in 07. I can’t imagine what it must have been like pre-surge. Full patrols and moving to contact with like 4-5 people, vehicle checkpoints and outposts ran with only 3 people. fukk ALL that!
Remember that up-armored vehicles was like... a late addition too

Hmmm, the primary criteria for BAH, IIRC, was location. If you moved from a high-rent area to a lower one, or, you received BAH w/dependents but weren't qualified for it, that'd happen. Cats even got caught sub-letting when I was in. There's all types of reporting to catch that, though.

AFAIK, you gotta submit all claims to DFAS.

You should have a form telling you the reason for the overpayment. Can't remember which one, though.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking but DFAS is telling me it’s an Army issue. I have to exhaust the Army grievance channels first. I’ve just never seen anything like it. BAH fraud was always people with sham marriages or collecting a hire BAH rate or people who were married and didn’t give their spouse money if they complained about it or something.

May not be BAH. They may have overpaid you on other entitlements, but the notification you receive doesn't state which one because they're all lumped together.

Took this girl 4 years to join the Air Force because of........eczema. Seems that if you want to join the Air Force it's best not to bring up mild medical issues. Seems it would immensely complicate the enlistment process (due to being disorganized. Having to re-submit medical records for the 20th time because they lost it)

the child porn dude worked in battalion HQ during deployment. He was always a weirdo. He looked like an aryan earthworm Jim. There was a big fight that started after the enemy got inside the wire. Another guy got caught selling raid cam footage of the fight and went to jail. They investigated the other laptops and found out someone else has child porn on their work laptop. He thought it was safest to hide it in plain sight. He was put out then put in jail. They also realized he and another guy at battalion had autism.

The bolder guy was an infantryman from my first duty station. He failed a piss test and ended up in the squadron “shyt bag” platoon. In the shytbag platoon you serve out your 45 days of extra duty after an Article 15. Basically you do all the menial bullshyt nobody else wants to do. If there’s no official work then 1SG makes up some shyt for you to do, as long as you’re miserable.

We had a field rotation in the desert and 1SG tasked him with digging up this big ass boulder a good ways away from our camp. He dug a big ass hole under one side of it and took a break. The guy watching him was his friend. He asked dude if he could b a square from him and he say no. His friend walked away even though he was supposed to make sure dude had water and didn’t get attacked by snakes, coyotes, or wild burros.

Dude took a break to smoke a cigarette at the edge of the hole he’d dug. His legs were in the hole below the knee. Of course, it being the Army, the ground gave away and the boulder shifted and slammed down just below his knees. He was basically stuck screaming and flailing like a mouse in a trap, and no one could hear him. The only reason anyone rescued him was because another friend walked out to the work site to also bum a cigarette. He was the one who ran to get us medics.

He had complete fractures at the head of each fibula. After we evac’d him the ER doctor fukked up and slammed his charting clipboard on his knees while trying to catch a falling EKG lead.

He really got off pretty lucky. CSM and 1SG got together and got him his rank and pay back, then decided that his extra duty was over (they didn’t want to get reprimanded for breaking several laws).

Thanks for explaining further. You get reps and dap.:obama:

Clearly you got stories to tell. Tell us more or elaborate on the points you made before. :feedme:

the vast majority of the fukked up shyt I saw came from just one place - and i've been shot at more times in hood than ALL of my friends who've deployed

the general thing about military experience though is that results may vary :manny:

fukk, i remember when obama came to hood :mjlol: what a day

How do you get shot at an army base? :dahell: Was this some military exercise? Explain this shyt to the civilians, we don't fukken understand. :damn:

What happened when Obama came to hood? :jbhmm:

I can’t stress about that shyt at all. It was some of the most entertaining years of my life lmao. Just pic. Anything off the list and I can further explain lol. That’s just from 2 duty stations. The older cats have all the truly outrageous stories lol. Anybody who was pre-2006 Stewart, Drum, Hood, Campbell, and Bragg has seen some shyt lol.

People may think those skin conditions are minor but even with the AF.... you don't want to mix dirt, water, and general field conditions with a lot of this stuff. It'll compound and turn into something much worse. The risks can rise quickly. If you can get a waiver and be on your way, then cool but its something to always monitor.

You get the strap and start shooting :gucci:

First time I got shot at was at a cookout, then more than a few times on gate guard, then some more times because I was deemed "reliable" by my command so they had me "helping" resolve domestic violence situations with our outreach NCOs (read: I was the black guy, and these little white LTs that were tasked with checking on soldiers who lived outside of the barracks wanted someone that made them feel safe when they had to check on SFC Ibeatmywife and SGT Mywifebeats me every other weekend). There were barracks shootings. I was actually lucky enough to be off post when the last big one happened right across from the Wingzone or whatever its called. I usually bullshytted my lunches away there. Dude got his leave denied and decided to air out the whole office. Immediately off post is much worse. I've seen dudes flashing weapons at Sonic of all places.

I never saw any shootings at a training or field event. I'm sure its happened though. That doesn't mean shyt didn't go down out there....

I understand. But.......4 years? Seems like there are some problems with the waiver process. She had to acquire her medical records from her doctor multiple times because the Air Force kept losing her documentation or some shyt.
