What planet is this?

reality.

A culture based album that dropped in the swirl of post Puff Daddy mania sold 500,000 plus albums with ZERO radio support. Try harder you gator shoe wearin', powder blue velour suit havin' caricature.

not a knock on gangstarr, and not to put an emphasis on sales, but you brought it up:

going gold off a double album aint whoa.

and puffy wasn't ruling east coast radio when this dropped. DMX was taking over.

Hence POST puffy swirl.

even if gangstarr dropped this album a year earlier, it would've did the same numbers.

they weren't affected by puff either way. the same people that bought this in '98, would've bought it in '97.

its not like they picked up a new legion of fans or anything.

Moment of Truth wasn't a double album

it was packaged with their greatest hits.

18th letterish.

There are sounds used on E 1999 that sound exactly like the music from Nintendo games.

LOL

They did sample some video games if I'm right. I know they sampled a Sega Genesis game on Eternal.

Moment of Truth has better production. I feel bad for replying to an old thread and getting people this stirred up. I had never seen anyone compare these 2 albums before either on production or lyrics, so I thought I'd make a reply. I didn't know I'd cause all this.

The World, but from BK
:russ: ...these albums have nothing in common to make a comparison at all. I'm an NYC head, but E.1999 allllll the way...it's been 18years and I can still listen to this album all the way thru.
