i thought born sinner was dope, but that trailer video with the song at the end i'm still waiting for that full song to drop. it's been over 10 years, and i heard he never releasing it to the public. something about the beat was too powerful compared to what he rapped on it.

every album after born sinner i was waiting for it, but i gave up that ghost

The Off Season was his best one to me. 2014 FHD had the impact. But The Off Season had no bad songs. Not a single one. And his pen is as sharp as ever

That track "close" is a level of quality that he hadn't tapped back into since Friday Night Lights

Ye was talking too crazy for me to get behind that rollout early. The Life Of Pablo is the one I was hype about

Especially with that listening session he had at that arena with Cudi and GOOD Music

It was a solid album. Just not a classic. After that I gave up looking for another MBDTF

The leadup to TPAB had me thinking Kendrick was about to drop a *lyrical* masterpiece where he was going crazy on every track. It ended up being a *musical* masterpiece, but I still feel okeydoked to this day with that whole "best rapper alive" rollout and ain't looked at Kenny the same since

Thats probably his best album lyrically. Poetically. All of that

He definitely went in, but I expected "harder" shyt to back up the BRA title he was claiming like those before him. Control and Look Out for Detox(I think that was during the rollout, but might be off) were a lot more aggressive and competitive. Wayne had joints on Carter II where he just went the fukk in like Tha Mobb. Even Jay "proved" himself with What More Can I Say on Black Album. I felt like Kendrick was focused on crafting a full body of work that he contributed elite lyricism to, but it just didn't match with the "IM TRYNA MURDER YOU nikkaS" energy the rollout consisted of. Classic as it is, TPAB isn't the *type* of record that a nikka should be screaming "I'm the best rapper alive" behind

i love the off season- its concise, beats good and he ripped everything on that. his best album to me also

Life of Pablo, while I loved Yeezus, I get it was a divisive sound. So when Real Friends and No More Parties in LA leaked, it was some vintage Kanye and I thought, oh shyt, he’s coming back to get the haters and doubters on board. Then the epic listening party where so much stuff sounded fire…only to get an album full of jumbled half finished songs that he kept changing so it was like 2-3 versions of half the album. shyt was a let down even tho he had enough fire on there to have dropped a classic had they been longer, complete tracks and had he made it an 11-13 track album
