The Off Season was his best one to me. 2014 FHD had the impact. But The Off Season had no bad songs. Not a single one. And his pen is as sharp as everi thought born sinner was dope, but that trailer video with the song at the end i'm still waiting for that full song to drop. it's been over 10 years, and i heard he never releasing it to the public. something about the beat was too powerful compared to what he rapped on it.
every album after born sinner i was waiting for it, but i gave up that ghost
Ye was talking too crazy for me to get behind that rollout early. The Life Of Pablo is the one I was hype aboutYeezus
Thats probably his best album lyrically. Poetically. All of thatThe leadup to TPAB had me thinking Kendrick was about to drop a *lyrical* masterpiece where he was going crazy on every track. It ended up being a *musical* masterpiece, but I still feel okeydoked to this day with that whole "best rapper alive" rollout and ain't looked at Kenny the same since![]()
4Eva Is A Mighty Long Time is a classic double album. It will be remembered in timeBig krit
I did hear Momma for the first time in a minute the other day and forgot how hard that shyt wasThats probably his best album lyrically. Poetically. All of that
Listen to Institutionalized, Hood Politics, and Momma again. He was in his bag on all fronts
He murdered nikkas' toxic mindsets. He's deconstructing the regressive mentalities of Black America on record, brothaI did hear Momma for the first time in a minute the other day and forgot how hard that shyt was
He definitely went in, but I expected "harder" shyt to back up the BRA title he was claiming like those before him. Control and Look Out for Detox(I think that was during the rollout, but might be off) were a lot more aggressive and competitive. Wayne had joints on Carter II where he just went the fukk in like Tha Mobb. Even Jay "proved" himself with What More Can I Say on Black Album. I felt like Kendrick was focused on crafting a full body of work that he contributed elite lyricism to, but it just didn't match with the "IM TRYNA MURDER YOU nikkaS" energy the rollout consisted of. Classic as it is, TPAB isn't the *type* of record that a nikka should be screaming "I'm the best rapper alive" behind![]()

That's what he meant by murdering nikkas

That track "close" is a level of quality that he hadn't tapped back into since Friday Night Lights
Stfu lol I used to not like it either but it’s more impactful at 29 than it was at what 14?When he started the album with The Prelude
