I thought Cole was going to shut everything down when he dropped "everybody dies" and "False Prophets" on the same day.

Then 4 Your Eyez Only came out, with neither of those tracks on it. :unimpressed:

Then a month later, he drops "High for Hours."
:gucci:

I'm going to give 4YEO another chance, but I remember it being mediocre at the time.

Big Krit.

After Krit dropped 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time which was a great double album I really thought dude had found his footing in music, he was ready to separate himself from his mixtape run.

Then he dropped Krit Iz Here not a terrible album but it was lackluster.

I was so disappointed in this album. Especially after his title reveal and the music video he dropped

I was convinced he was gonna go 2 for 2 after his 2017 album. Have 2 arguable classics

Album came out. First few tracks were good. Make It Easy was vintage KRIT. The KRIT fans were complaining about not being on his studio albums

And then the song Addiction came on. That song wasn't bad. It was just a reach for streams and radio

Energy was cool

Obvious ft Rico Love is probably KRITs worst song he's ever released. And I'm saying this as a diehard fan since 2010. Disappointment isn't even the word

Honestly if he didn't work so closely with Rico on this album and kept the Iz Here concept, this could've been up there with his classic mixtapes

Rico convinced him to make "bigger" stadium records. That has never been KRIT. His greatness came from being organic and doing what he felt like. Not doing what the masses want to hear

Those aren't the fans that need to be satiated anyway

It is what it is. Digital Roses was a better album than this to me. And he's dropping another one soon

Youngins born in like 2000 would disagree with u but i 100% agree. That shyt came and went. The album didnt impact the culture at all like a GRODT, Chronic etc except nikkas rapping over the A Milli beat.

Now Wayne overall as an artist influenced the coming generation but this album did not. Nobody goes back to it either. All people remember is that it sold a lot of records the 1st week.
This is crazy

Saying carter 3 came and went is ridiculous. This nikka dominated hip hop media for like an entire year after dropping carter 3

You missed my point. Wayne dominated, but not the album. The album wasnt blazing the streets or worldwide like that from my perspective. Obviously Wayne was the biggest rapper then but it wasnt based around the album, matter fact Wayne was getting hot in public prior to the album based on his mixtape shyt and features

The album dominated but I suppose we do have different perspectives. I was still in school then but everyone was talking about it all the time, the videos for the singles were being played on TV everyday, wayne was at every award show, he was on the radio everyday, etc. this went on for like an entire year after the album came out because the singles were spread out, Lollipop I think came out before the album, A Milli (the official version) dropped when the album came out, Mrs. Officer some months later and I think Got Money was the last one

If you want to argue that it was wayne, not the album, that's fair I guess. But I don't know what would meet that criteria if not that, GRODT dominated media but it's not like every single song on it was breaking records, just the singles, similar to Carter 3.

Yeah we'll have to agree to disagree. GRODT even had songs that werent singles being played all over. Nobody that i saw or knew played or spoke about C3 a while after it dropped, compared to a Doggystyle/GRODT etc etc. Even today, how often is C3 mentioned or played by anybody? And compare that to the other classic albums i named.

We'll agree to disagree. That shyt was everywhere :hubie:

It's very often mentioned as the definitive album of wayne's career commercially and a defining moment of those particular years in hip hop, for better or for worse depending on whose talking about it.

That digital roses album following this was even worse to me too.

People said that it's an album you have to experience live tho so I guess that's why.
It's grown man music bro. It grew on me majorly a few months after it dropped

Once I get into a serious relationship and eventually have kids, imma relate to every single song on there

I can go for that. I just looked at it as KRIT experimenting with a new sound, jumping into a different lane and avoiding the pressure of making another down south masterpiece.

It doesn't musically sound bad, it's just a disappointment to me because I know what I want to hear from him and he gave us something else.
