The vast majority of the worst kids I've known were directly reflecting their parents.

Not saying it's all the parents' fault - those parents probably had their own shyt going on. But you got to work hard to break the cycle and most of the time it's gotta start with the parent changing their own behavior, not the kid's behavior.
