If you get that promotion, that will make it that much easier, cause if she has that baby, she will realize fukking fast how much she DOESN'T want to leave the baby and it will all fall into place. My wife was having anxiety just from being away from the baby for a hour or so, it took MONTHS for her to adjust, but all this will work in your favor trying to convince her to take a year off. My wife wanted to be a nurse, work, school the whole 9, now? She doesn't want to do any of that cause she would rather be a stay at home mom and im just :blessed:

that would be so ideal breh. i would even rather she said fukk public schools and went back to work at the montessori school she worked at before. there at least our baby's tuition would be free and she could bring the baby to work and leave her in the newborn daycare while she teaches the toddlers. that would take care of her separation anxiety and she could still bring in some money if she wants.

its tough man cause im getting older n so is she so we dont want to wait much longer but there are so many factors that make it seem insurmountable sometimes.

:patrice: i feel like by you asking this question alone...you're not as "getting old" as you think. Riddle me this, how old are? Ballpark if you don't wanna give your age. How are you financially? I was always taught that a man should be able to take care of his wife while she's pregnant and for 6 months to a year afterwards.

i turn 31 on the 19th

financially im not well enough off that we can afford to live on just my salary. i made some bad choices in my younger days so im behind but im on the right track. im making 36k a year and if i get this promotion i will be at 51k a year. keep in mind i live in nyc. bronx but still, 1225 a month in rent(they just raised it) plus other bills and her student loans plus the car im very likely gonna need, it would be tough unless i get that promotion.

i turn 31 and she just turned 27. it gets harder and riskier for women around age 36 and we would like to have 3 or maybe 4 if possible, but we only have a 9 year window to make it happen.

i would love to just have her be a stay at home mom but i cant afford that just yet. im with a good company tho and moving up fast so maybe someday.

You need to contact your Human Resources department. Family Medical Leave Act...You should quality for maternity leave under this act. If you have an accident, get sick or have a baby (birth or adopted) then you can take leave without worrying about your job. You get up to 12 weeks off for the calendar year. Your pay come out of your sick time and vacation depending on your job.

You need to speak to your Human Resources department. Then you need to ask them for a personal policy manual and read it, from front to back.

Never work a job were you don't know your benefits.

My friend got a month and a half paid time off for parental leave. After that she used sick/personal days. I hear there's also some sort of disability you can apply for. She stayed out of work and got paid for quite some time. She left on the day she was 9 months and her baby is now a month old and she's just planning to return.

In Canada you get 12 months of Maternity leave. 66 percent of your wages , baby bonuses and some companies will even top up your salary to 100 percent


:wow: why the fukk didn't our families immigrate to Toronto instead. My wife's cousin lives in Montreal. Moved there with a pawg. He fukking loves it and doesn't even visit ny like that anymore.

We have males who go out on FMLA when their wives have kids.

From what I read on the employee manual we don't get any paternal leave. I haven't had the convo with hr yet since she isn't even pregnant but I'm gonna email them and see tomorrow. My brother in law got a week at his job but that was it.
