I think its a combination of things,
cj gets drafted, slowik comes in as a kyle shanahan disciple
they get a qb-friendly offense and no one expects them to be good yet they take the world by storm, and CJ is anointed next
now year two, league adjusts as they do with any qb. slowiks shanahan offense is not a novelty, teams are generally well prepared. run game is not working as well and all shanahan disciple offenses are based off run game and play action a lot.
in true shanahan fashion the oline is getting neglected to the point of it actively hurting the offense. they get a great dline and pay skill players instead.
then the qb tries to do too much knowing theyve done this before and becomes more erratic
feels like its a common thing with a lot of shanahan tree and qbs and how they go
slowik is gone now, and cj is adjusting to a new system and new OC...I cant defend his accuracy issues tho which rose up from nowhere
