I might be in the minority but i hate the turn on Big E. Stop worrying bout shock factor and swerving us and focus on long term storytelling. First of all Big E can't wrestle so turning on him does nothing but get some cheap heat. Six months later they'll be back together dancing and eating booty o's. Now having Kofi and Xavier fight each other wouldn't have done anything. So they made the right move there. My thing is what's the end game here? Is Big E gonna find a new tag team to go against New Day. Is Big E gonna return and get a monster face push? To me it just feels like ok Kofi and Xavier turned on Big E. now what's next?
They're either super confident that Big E will get cleared or internally they already know he's cleared. That's the only real (satisfying) payoff that this angle could have and I think if they knew there was truly no possibility of him coming back then they wouldn't have gone with it imo.
