Edge kept his neck injury close to the vest, Nobody knew until after Mania. That was also when Vince was on that weird shyt forcing wrestlers to retire instead of letting them even try shyt out/recover (Edge, Christian, Bryan, Paige, etc.)

In Edge's case, I fully understand, because I remember him planning to retire a year later and Vince was afraid of what could happen if he continued wrestling. He did a spot on SmackDown the week before where he hit the spear and he was holding the back of his neck in a weird way, almost like he stunned himself.

Christian was definitely weird because he didn't even get a proper retirement. It's like they were hoping he would get better, but they never had him get tested later on. King just mentioned both him and Edge were retired on RAW and I was like when he said that because Christian never announced it.
