If you were trying to buy today I kind of get it as prices and interest rates are a bit high, but the longer you wait to own the more it’s highly likely to bite you in the ass in the long run

I bought mid 2021 and it’s the best decision I ever made. To each their own though

Prices were still good around covid so that was an amazing time to buy. It was the best thing I did because my mortgage payment is like nothing…but someone buying at this exact moment might not get the same deal.

Just gotta find property in areas with good prices…
and buying isn't always the best option
Rent prices is like 2900 most places or more.

Own a home about 1500 a month
2900 for rent is penthouse status for any city out of the top ~5 lol

Same, 2020 for me

Home is worth more than what I paid, don't have neighbors on top of me or thin walls where I can hear them, don't have people with keys to my home...

I remember back in like 2017 when I was living in the leasing office, a water heater went out at a person's apartment and they tried to kick my door down because it was Christmas day and nobody was open to get another water heater from...

Best decision I ever made :manny:

my primary purchased for $425k is worth about a mill
my rental purchased for 160k is worth 600k
my other rental purchased for $450k sold for $800k

yes i live paycheck to paycheck a lot living in a high cost of living area. yes i would rather be putting that $6k a month i pay for mortgages in the stock market but real estate changed my life.

everything is super expensive right now but if if you can buy low definitely buy

Yeah I noticed many people who say don't buy a house experienced a major personal financial downturn in the past where they were stuck paying a mortgage or several mortgages they couldn't afford and lost their home or several homes. It seems like those experiences were understandably traumatic and shaped how they view homeownership.

My house is paid off

Haven't worked since November

Don't need to

I have no bills, with money saved up+investments. I run a small mobile business that i can put out on the road whenver I feel like it.

:russ: at everybody I see in my neighborhood scurrying around like rats shoveling the snow when it's 10 degrees pitch black outside cause they 50+ with jobs and car payments :mjlol:

Stop wasting your money on dumb shyt to impress people who ain't got shyt neither. Ride a bike, ride the bus, do whatever u gotta do. Nothing beats the financial freedom of owning your own house

Basic maintenance should not be an issue, Ive fixed plenty of things that would've cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars just by watching YouTube tutorials. Better than dealing with rent increases

They don't want you buying a house cause it releases u from this rat race everyone is trapped in. The system wants u to work til u get sick and die

If u wanna be seventy years old struggling to walk and having to pay the rent or be homeless at the end of the month, that's on you.

I'd rather live my golden years in comfort

Problem is, there's places without rent control. I want to avoid that as much as possible.

most people are spending at minimum 2/3+ of their income to rent. its absurd and predatory to claim this wouldn't be better served to finance their own property. people who make this kind of content often own multiple home and need you clocking in. home ownership is the 1st staple of economic health.
