The wife character is messing this up, especially since he wasn’t married.
90% of the show is unconfirmed speculation, from the extra missing persons he was questioned about killing, to his relationships with people he knew around town, to the interactions with the people he killed, to the woman that dated him.
The show runner is basically taking mixing facts, with rumors, plus her pre-retraction interview, and making a show about all that, paralleled with the movies and future killers he influenced.
Plus he’s schizophrenic so shyt that’s working out for him is likely just a hallucination.

Wasn't it confirmed that he had a relationship with that girl? I know whether or not he killed his brother was never proven for sure, just speculation.
It was confirmed, just the seriousness of it wasn’t. She initially told people they were together for years and lived with each other, then told people they dated a little bit for 7 months and she never went to his house. I don’t know if she was ever seriously looked at as an accomplice.
The brother and the missing people are unproven just like you said. I read that he only ever admitted to two murders. And couldn’t really remember how many graves he dug up.
There’s no telling how many bodies he got. His mental illness and mixing fantasy with real life reminds me of Arthur Fleck in The Joker
shyts got me thinking, Wisconsin really has some fukked up prolific serial killers. This guy, dahmer, and if you include Chicagoland, you add Gacy and Holmes.
