Jeff Jarrett got the money he was owed, it wasn't an extra 6 figures. The extra he did get was stock options because WWE was about to go public around that time
Nah, he got way more than he was owed. He was only working without a contract for a few months. He and JR agreed to that number plus a little sweetener. JR went to Vince and got the okay.
When JR went back to Jarrett, Jeff brought something up -
The year before, Jeff had taken a HUGE paycut (he says one that went from his family living comfortably to being back on the grind, but he was fukked on the timing and had no choice). He was very bitter about it, and it was the main reason he was leaving to begin with.
Jeff then asked for even more money based on that situation, and that's where the stock options come in. Only time he's ever told the full truth of the story is the My World podcast.
He didn't even take the payment in the form of a check from the WWE because he knew they'd cancel it. He only had leverage as long as he had the belt. He got paid by the arena as if he got a slice of revenue from the event.
