No insurance only covers what is financed. They have gap insurance to cover the rest. I know somebody whose brand new X5 just got totalled going through it now.Huh? How is that possible? Insurance pays out whatever they deem the car to be worth. If you put down 1/6 of the price right off the bat then obviously the car will be worth more than what you owe on it. You'll get the difference. That's a really low down payment for a 65k car, btw.
Gap insurance is to cover the negative equity. If your car is appraised at less than what you owe on it then you'll need gap or the difference comes out of pocket. You will not have that problem if you put a decent amount of money down.No insurance only covers what is financed. They have gap insurance to cover the rest. I know somebody whose brand new X5 just got totalled going through it now.
OP, whats the note?
#impalagang. I love mine and I got it for 5,000 as soon as I pay it off(about a year 1/2) and another vehicle I'm pimping that shyt out.I understand you man. I have a 2008 Chevy Impala. It's got it's little issues but now the transmission is slipping. So I want to keep the car so I can keep miles of whatever I end up getting. That's why I want to get my transmission rebuilt and go ahead and get all the other minor issues knocked out. Then around April start test driving and doing research on what I'm deciding on. I got some trips coming up so I'll try to rent one of my choices and decide from there. Plus since I'm not going to be driving the new whip everyday I can keep some of the miles off of it. My current car has 196K miles on it and I keep the service up the best that I can. But I bet it will fill nice to have 2 different keys on the key chain, until note/insurance day.
insurance doesn't fully protect the down payment I live in Chicago, so say I drop 10k on a 65k car which the m3 is, and it gets stolen I lose my 10k. Another thing is in Illinois you gotta pay taxes on the down payment amount.
955.61
Residual- 60%
3k put down

I meant taxes on the entire purchase of the car.Taxes on the down payment? What kind of fukking shyt is that?
Switch it up every few yearsfukk man $955.61 for a car you have to give back? No way breh.![]()
