Monthly car note unappreciation thread

Circumstances forced me into getting into a lease (old car broke down and I need a car to get to work... didn't have time to do a proper search and needed something reliable )... but ownership is key. I'd never choose leasing over owning if I had a choice.

Man, I have been having new car/truck fever but the only time that car/truck is ugly is when the note & insurance is due. I have a car that's paid off now and despite the problems I have with it I can live with them to have a separate car.

It's a vicious cycle. I recommend you rent the car you're thinking about buying for a weekend to get a real feel for it. You'll probably come away appreciating the car, but not really feeling that it's worth taking on debt for. And if you do, then you can always just go and buy it.

That was exactly what I was going to do. I really want a truck. I rented a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee back in June to visit my uncle in Mississippi and had 3 people riding with me and I was really impressed with it. I plan on getting my car completed serviced at the end of the month and then by April start test driving trucks. Unless I see a really good deal on a car I really want, I'm leaning more towards an SUV. I don't want a note but as long as I can comfortably afford to pay the truck off in 3 years I'll be good.
