Never heard of them. It's dope too. Female MC Sa Roc goes in. She's deep. Even my man Black Dot.

I discover them recently. Hell Razah gave them a shout on The Renaissance Child album. (linear notes) Im Familiar with Sa Roc and Stahhr. Havent found anything new from these guys. what i do know is Cipher Jewels is suppose to be a motivational speaker.

Cause the picture and most of the music showed is from over 10 years ago. I have no idea whatever happened to these dudes.

UK Hip Hop went through a weird transistion by 2002-2003, when the garage mcs started doing street music (So Solid, Dizee Raascal) and they eventually seemed to have overtaken the regular Hip Hop underground rappers of the time to create grime which was UK Hip Hop after that. Even then the grime artist just went ahead and made straight up Hip-Pop fusion sound, and then you had dudes who just made rap with like different styles (Wiley, Diz, Chip, Skepta, Bizzle, Tinie Tempah, Devlin, Plan B etc)

But yeah there's a wave of underground MCs that had a few moments and flew the flag for UK Hip Hop that kinda went quiet after 2004. Moorish Delta, 57th Dynasty, Black Twang, Ty (still kinda hung about), Blade, Rodney P, Kalashnekoff, Getz, Funky DL, Skinnyman etc etc

basically they were a crew but the lead was a dude who claimed he was from the Bronx and moved over to Brixton in the early 90s. They were sort of on that rough around the edges cypher backpack crew with a lot of Wu, Nas, rawkus influence that we saw a lot of rappers from 1994-2003 but not on that level.

Saw them at my very first concert in 2000 opening for DMX and I always liked their unity at the time but in retrospect they were more a product of the time

I think the main guy died and the youngest got locked up and they kinda disappeared after 2002
