its a fact that countries that put more emphasis on striving to the top by any means and work more hours per week are far less happier than countries that have better safety nets and provide a less stressful existence for their citizens.

Our mortality rate is pretty high for a 1st world country.

I also don't think its fair to blame social media, it's simply a mirror of society. You can't blame a shallow narcissistic society on a app/piece of code.

what the hell is denmark on top of, the country isn't relevant on the world stage

people are depressed every where

americans are addicted to drugs and eat unhealthy food thats why the mortality rate is high
add that with gun violence, and there you go

What are you disagreeing with exactly?

OP posted an article about how America is miserable

I mentioned that Denmark is an example of how a society can function without making it's citizens miserable.

You don't think there's anything to learn from a place/places like that?

There's absolutely nothing we can borrow from them to make this society better?

Only gonna get worse.

Yep. With technology gearing towards isolation and the things of the past being eliminated right before our eyes (malls, social events, etc). We are becoming walking robots while technology is slowly taking away our spirits. It doesn't help that society teach folks to work hard and harder to get what you want, in reality what's to want:mindblown:? A big empty house, a gamble with a marriage, kids that could have a miserable future depending on life choices, and money that constantly goes different ways beyond your pockets. It's getting to the point where the only way to combat the depression is overcoming the dictation of life goals that you ARE suppose to do. Why follow the lead when you can make your own blueprint? This is the problem with folks nowadays, they are guided by an established blueprint, instead of creating their own design. Once we as people overcome the past of failed success, focus on our own dreams, and not let technology take a huge portion of our lives. All will be good, until then...it's a modern day "They Live" movie:

Automation is swallowing jobs left and right which is causing social events and malls to collapse . The masses for the most part dont like talking or socializing but rather stay glued to their social media devices, music today sux dikk, you have a moron in office teasing the possibility of world war 3 with another moron everyday which triggers fears. Women and Men interaction is more distant than ever and lets add on stagnant wages while costs go up. Thats just 30 percent of it

Americans are more unhealthy than ever and that has a direct impact on mental health. A number of us are a good diet and exercise plan away from changing our outlook on life.
My outlook has changed since I made health my priority (diet AAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNDDDD exercise for you lazy fukks out there). Dialing out of social media, reading, drinking water. These are all basics but we forget and overlook them.

I need to remind myself more to take myself out of my hectic schedule and just do nothing for awhile. It's gotten to the point where even if I sit down and relax for 10-15 minutes, I start getting anxious feeling like there's something else I should be doing. Rapid pace of our society has taken those small moments of nothingness out of our routine and I honestly think it contributes to anxiety/depression.
